Your work Gmail is about to look different

Google: Gmail is getting this new look to make switching between apps easier
Gmail’s new integrated layout will take over inboxes soon

Google said in a statement on its blog yesterday that we will introduce a new, integrated view of Gmail, making it easy to navigate important apps like Gmail, Chat and Meet in one unified place.

When enabled, the new navigation menu will allow you to easily switch between your inbox, important conversations, and join meetings without having to switch between tabs or open a new window, Google said. Notification bubbles make it easy to stay on top of what needs your attention right away. When working in Chat and Spaces, you can view an entire list of conversations and spaces within one screen, making it easy to navigate and share.

And when you work in your inbox, you'll be able to view the full range of mail and label options currently available in Gmail today. In the coming months, you'll also see email and chat results when using the search bar, making it easier for you to find what you need by eliminating than the need to search within a particular product."

Google said it hopes this new experience will make it easier to stay on top of what's important and get work done faster in one focused location. Moreover, this will help reduce the need to switch between different applications, windows or tabs.
