ToTok has been removed from the App Store and Google Play Store after spying on users
The popular messaging app, ToTok, has been removed from the App Store and Google Play Store. The New York Times echoed an investigation by US officials, discovering that the app was a spy tool in the United Arab Emirates.

This app, launched in July, has been downloaded by millions of users worldwide. In this investigation, they assert that the app is able to monitor every conversation, movement, voice and image of its users.
The UAE is a heavily guarded country, and this year a report published by Human Rights Watch found that the country “stopped arbitrarily and made those who criticize the government disappear by force” (even in comments on social media).
Although most of the app's users are from UAE, if you have installed it for some reason, it might be a good idea to remove it from your device.

ToTok has gained huge popularity in this country due to the ban of apps like WhatsApp or Skype, so many users saw this app as a good, free and practical alternative.
As a messaging app, ToTok has access to a microphone, camera, photos, calendar, location or user contacts. After the investigation, he is accused of using this sensitive information to monitor and spy on users. Google also deleted it from its Google Play store as it no longer exists on this link: ToTok
