What are the reasons? The war between America and China has shifted from commercial to technological

Experts believe that the ban imposed on the Chinese company Huawei expresses the United States' fear of losing its economic position, and the desire of China to confront the technology monopoly of Washington, which has many giant companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon.
In his report published by the Spanish newspaper "Elbais", the writer Carlos Molina said that the arrival of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States is the beginning of the stage of suppressing free trade and pluralism as a means of understanding between the major economic blocs.

Trump launched an unprecedented trade war on China, accusing it of all the problems the Americans have suffered, including the trade deficit.

Since the early 2000s, the American economy has undergone an unprecedented industrial transformation, transforming the country from an exporting country to an importer, and making it dependent on China, the world's largest manufacturer.

And many other battles arose between the two countries in the shadow of that trade war, such as the limited opening of the Chinese economy, or the technological war to control information.

Regarding the conflict between China and the United States, the author said, experts believe that the problem is rooted in the rapid transformation that China has suffered in the past twenty years. The change in the role of the major economic blocs during the past two decades is the main key to understanding the beginning of the outbreak of the commercial battle between the two countries and its transformation into technology.

"The lack of confidence among the economic giants has emerged, because China's growth and its drive to lead the global economy and technology have made the United States feel its influence threatened," said Francisco Perez, professor of economic analysis at the University of Valencia, Spain.

"The United States took very seriously the Chinese strategy of achieving self-sufficiency and implementing the so-called technology trade doctrine," Peres added.

He added that this confrontation between the American and Chinese giants led to the blasting of so-called multilateralism and the emergence of speeches that confuse economic and political affairs.

For his part, Professor Emeritus of the University of "Emerio del IASI", Pedro Nueno, believes that "the insertion of politics in the field of economics definitely means that we have penetrated the economy, where popular politicians can win the admiration of many people, without preparing for it."

"Trump may not be supported in Boston or New York, but there are millions of other people in the United States who share his thoughts ... We must fight so that we do not confuse economics and politics, and when this confusion occurs, any company can disappear for political reasons," Noino said. In a clear reference to the battle that has been launched against the Chinese company Huawei since May 16, 2019.

Trump chose this date to sign an executive order banning Huawei from selling its products in the United States. Indeed, the US President benefited from a law passed in 1977, which allowed him to regulate trade and prohibit the sale of goods and services on American soil as long as it posed an "unacceptable threat" to national security.

The writer highlighted that this serious decision to prevent a manufacturer from another country from selling its products is closely related to the dominant role China plays in the technology industry.

Perhaps the clearest example of this is that the three largest mobile phone manufacturers are Asian. In contrast, the four US giants - Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon - dominate the IT industry.

Europe has appeared in this American-Chinese conflict, as it is considered one of the largest consumers of goods and services in the world, but the size of its industry in this field - as well as its importance - is too small to compete with other economic blocs.

Commenting on this issue, Santiago Carbo, Professor of Economics at the College of Financial Studies in Spain, said that "Europe is a very important part of the demand for technological products, especially from the United States, which does not want it to use the Huawei 5G phone."

The writer concluded that American technology companies will succeed in imposing their influence with the help of their government that supports them in Europe, where they refuse to impose taxes in the countries in which they operate, while Washington presses the Europeans to prevent them from obtaining Chinese technology.
