How do I install apps on Fitbit watch?

If you have a Fitbit Smart Watch, why only do you have basic applications? While you can download more applications and customize them to your liking, especially applications that help you perform daily tasks such as: fitness applications, food ordering, transportation, shopping, and even smart home control applications such as: Alexa, Nest, and IFTTT.

Here's how to download apps on Fitbit watch:

Before you start searching for apps you should pay attention to two important things:

The first: Until now, there are no professional applications for the Fitbit smart watch, such as the ones we find in the Apple and Google stores, where many of them lack the advantage of accessing Wi-Fi networks, while some require you to create an account and log in to the phone before using it on the watch. In addition to the difficulty of updating it if the smartphone is far from it.

The second: You cannot download
applications directly to the watch, but you must download them through the application on your phone first and then send them to the watch. Here are the steps to download the Fitbit app to your phone and how to connect it to your smartwatch:
  •     Download the Fitbit app, which is freely available for Android device users on the Google Play Store, and for iPhone users via the App Store.
  •     You will be prompted to create a Fitbit (live) account directly once you have downloaded and installed.
  •     In the Fitbit app, tap your profile icon in the upper left corner, and choose (Set Up a Device). Follow the instructions.

How to add apps to Fitbit watch:

Once the watch is paired with your phone, you can follow these steps to download the apps:
  •     Click on your profile icon in the upper left corner of the application, then select your phone.
  •     Click on the "Apps" option, then click on the "All Apps" option, you will find yourself in the Fitbit watch app store, and here you can browse the apps to choose from.
  •     To install the application of your choice, click its icon, then press Install.

Note: You will have to agree to some permissions according to each application to continue. Despite concerns that arise from the permissions requested by many applications, Google has previously stated that it will not sell Fitbit watch customer data, or use it to target them to ads.

If you are obsessed with privacy and its dangers, you can spend some minutes reading these permissions that each application requires of you before downloading them.

Once your phone confirms that the app has finished downloading, you can swipe left in your smart watch screen to see and use the app.
