YouTube no longer requires removal of entire video for copyright strikes

If you upload a video to YouTube and post music or pictures that are not owned by us, we may run the risk of receiving a warning "Your video will be deleted". It's a huge headache, because sometimes in this video there are only a few seconds of a third-party clip and because of it you will have to delete the video or receive a strike, which is unfair.

YouTube knew that the solution was necessary, and it recently introduced a feature that is able to remove only the part that violates copyright, while keeping the video intact.

Details appear on this support page, which includes some animations explaining how to perform this process in case you have a problem of this kind.

YouTube has added a cropping option to the video's copyright details page. We can remove the copyrighted content claimed by Content ID in the video, thus eliminating the problem.
