Samsung's AirDrop alternative, Quick Share, is weirdly cloud based
Google is working on its new file transfer system between devices called "Nearby Sharing"; Xiaomi is also working with OPPO and Vivo to continue deploying its new file transfer service between devices under the name Peer-to-Peer Transmission Alliance; now we know that Samsung wants It also has its own file transfer system between devices called Quick Share.

Of course, unlike the first two that are transferred directly between the devices themselves, the new file transfer system from Samsung will use the company's cloud services for temporary hosting of files with restrictions in terms of file capacity that users can send between their own devices.
According to the XDA-Dvelopers Forum, users can send files of up to 1 GB, up to a maximum of 2 GB per day, which will also be restricted for compatible Samsung devices. According to the forum, the new service will likely be launched alongside the new Galaxy S20 +.
Of course, to transfer files, users must have other physically close users before they can perform the transfers.
There is no doubt that the service is a new added value in the Android system that goes beyond the features provided by devices at the hardware level.
