Hummer will return as an EV nameplate in 2022

General Motors is preparing to revive the famous Hummer brand that was suspended a decade ago with a fully electric pickup truck, which is supposed to be sold under the GMC brand, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.
The new car will reportedly be marketed in cooperation with NBA Superstar LeBron James via a commercial during the Super Bowl next month.

The new Hummer model, which is expected to be sold by late 2021 or early 2022, will likely be sold in small quantities as a rugged pickup truck similar to an offroad jeep.

The car will be among the first large SUVs and battery-powered pick-up trucks that GM is expected to offer in the next few years.

General Motors is not expected to revive the Hummer, which is determined to design the Humvee as a full brand of its own as before, especially after the company ended the Hummer brand in 2010 after the financial crisis, the government's bailout for the auto industry and high fuel costs.
