russian cows get virtual reality headsets to reduce anxiety and improve their mooood

A Russian farmer has begun using a prototype of virtual reality glasses to encourage cows to produce more milk, a move that may seem funny, but based on research by Russian experts.
On a farm near the Russian capital Moscow, cows are wearing virtual reality glasses to display a specially designed pasture scene in shades of red, green, and blue, since cows only see these shades of color, in order to determine whether the pasture landscape has changed the mood of the cows. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow region.
During the first test of cows watching VR simulation, the researchers observed that there was a decrease in anxiety and an increase in the good mood of the herd. Noting that the emotional state of livestock plays an important role in dairy production, recent research has shown that a calm atmosphere can affect the amount and sometimes quality of cow's milk.
Dairy farms in different countries have tried everything from an automatic brush that massages cattle to classical music to keep them quiet and happy. Simply calling cows with custom names can encourage better milk production.
The impact on milk production by dairy cows wearing the prototype VR glasses will be detailed in a future comprehensive study.
