MacOS Catalina causes mail messages to disappear
Some users reported missing emails in the Apple Mail app after updating to MacOS Catalina.
Apple released the latest version of its operating system for MacOS 10.15 Catalina earlier this month.

As with any major OS update, there are many reports of problems with some aspects of the update, and in the case of macOS Catalina, the biggest issue is the email application.

The reports pointed out that the problems lie in the transfer of messages, and in sync with other devices, and e-mails may disappear completely in some cases.

Additional issues can occur when backing up your email. The Mail app doesn't always download all the message information it needs, and there may also be difficulties when retrieving data from your email archive.

Michael Tsai, who develops the EagleFiler and SpamSieve plugins for Apple Mail for MacOS, identified some of the problems that appeared in a post.
The programmer advises users after upgrading to MacOS Catalina if they rely on the Apple Mail app to fix these errors.
It is not known how many people are affected by the errors identified by Michael Tsai, but based on information, it's clear that the number of users who have lost emails is relatively small.

It should be noted that Michael Tsai says: The errors may be related to the servers operated by Apple, or Mac in general, rather than Apple Mail in particular.

Although Apple has not formally commented on the issue, it may take steps to address the issues reported in the next MacOS Catalina update.

The new operating system update adds some additional features to the Apple Mail app, including the ability to mute email topics that have become too busy, and block messages from specific senders.
