Just over a year ago, Walter Huang, a 39-year-old Apple engineer, died after the Tesla Autopilot crashed at the central barrier of Highway 101 at Mountain View at more than 100 kilometers per hour . Now, nearly a year later, the Walter Huang family has filed a lawsuit against Tesla accusing it of testing its technology with real people.

Prosecutors contend that the Tesla pilot system failed to explain the lane lines, in addition to not stopping the brakes, but also accelerating the vehicle against the barrier.
In the lawsuit, Tesla is accused of designing a defective product, lack of warning, false declarations, breach of warranty, deliberate misrepresentation and negligence.
Counsel points out that Walter Huang had complained at least seven times before his death that the autopilot had always failed at the point where the accident occurred, explaining that the car was moving towards the safety bar whenever it passed.
Elon Musk reported that in the investigation it was found that Autopilot had notified Mr. Huang several times of controlling the vehicle, but ignored it.
Similarly, the company has also indicated that its cars have used autopilot in the same stretch of the road more than 85,000 times so far, since the launch of this function in 2015, and that their customers are crossing the same stretch using autopilot about 200 times a day without problems.
