Mail accounts, bank, direct broadcast services, online stores ... Throughout the day we can access hundreds of web pages where all our personal data and other confidential information, such as our home address or our credit card website can be found. To access this data, we only need to enter a password, hence the importance of using secure passwords that are always difficult to guess.
Although there are still many users who use 123456 or qwerty to access their Google account, the awareness of computer security is growing exponentially, so it is increasingly common to find long passwords, and many are no longer using a password One for all accounts.
However, the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), a UK government organization providing advice and support to the public and private sectors to avoid threats to computer security, believes that much remains to be done in the area of computer security, in collaboration with Troy Hunt, A Web security expert famous for his blog, Have I Been Pwned, and issued a document containing 100,000 Internet-based passwords found in various security breaches analyzed by Troy Hunt.
To check if we really use easy-to-decrypt passwords which are among the 100,000, we just need to access the link below which NCSC has created. Once logged in, press Control + F and type some of your passwords. If it is in the list, change it as soon as possible.
So if we're still using our birthdate or our name or believe 123456789 is safe enough to protect our data, it might be better to start taking computer security more seriously.
