Why Instagram hide number of likes?

Analysts now estimate the value of Instagram at more than 100 billion dollars, or about one-fifth of the market value of Facebook, and since Facebook announced the practice of removing likes in April in order to combat bullying online, Moussery said, "Instagram manager": We are taking this step because we want to reduce people's interest in The likes they receive on Instagram and spend more time communicating with the people they care about, making the platform less competitive and giving people more space to focus on communicating with the people they love and the things that inspire them.
But it is clear that the motive goes beyond that, as there is another hypothesis within the company that hiding likes will increase the number of posts people post within the service by making them feel less aware when their posts aren't receiving much attention.

And Facebook research indicates that hiding likes can also increase the number of Instagram posts and in recent years the platform has started to see more users deleting or archiving their original posts that didn't get much likes.

Facebook's growth and data science team developed the hypothesis that eliminating likes will make users feel less aware of when their posts don't receive many likes, which motivates them to post more and Instagram users tend to mimic the behavior of close friends and family members so therefore urging a few users to start Frequently posting original content may create a viral effect.

It is noteworthy that Instagram does not want to exclude influencers from it, but since the systems of its competitors such as Snapchat, Tik Tok and Twitter are less developed, Facebook knows that the influencers have a few other services that they can move to, which makes them stick to Facebook and Instagram.
