China has once again confirmed its willingness to install a solar power plant in orbit around the Earth.
China will fully embark on its solar space station project in the course of 2025. The country has allocated25.5 million euros in the program to be built in Bishan in the Chongqing region in the south. west of China.
The researchers will develop a module that will transfer wireless energy with the best possible performance. The goal is to produce 1 megawatt of solar electricity in space by 2035.

China evokes a station of about 200 tons that will gradually be installed in orbit around the Earth. The power plant will pick up the rays. It will mainly target solar rays that never reach the Earth and will work 24/7.
The sun's rays will be transformed into microwaves which will be sent back to a terrestrial base. China's focus is on sustainable energy exploitation, which can also be deployed around the globe.
This includes the development of mobile receiving modules that could be deployed in disaster areas to provide wireless power and without fossil fuel generators.
The idea of a solar space station is not new. Several projects have already been mentioned on the sidelines of stations installed on the Moon, with transmission of energy via lasers. China has had a research program on wireless energy transmission since 2008 and already benefits from innovative technologies in the field.
