Google offers the ability to delete Web History and Web Activities automatically

Google said on Wednesday it would soon allow users to delete the location history, Web activities and legacy applications that the company normally maintains for its users.

At the moment, users should always remember to do this themselves by manually deleting them, or completely disabling them. However, if the user decides to turn off Location History or web activities, this will affect their experience on Google, as the company will not be able to provide the best recommendations and results.

In addition to the current way of deleting site history and web activities manually, the US search giant said in a publication on its blog: "We're announcing automatic deletion controls that will make it easier to manage your data."

Google can choose a time limit for the time you keep the web site record and web activities, and the time limit can be set to 3 or 18 months. Any data older than the selected limit will be automatically deleted from the account. This will start rolling out the new feature in the coming weeks.

The announcement came a week after a letter from senior US lawmakers to Google's chief executive about concerns that a company was keeping a huge database, known as the SensorVault, with accurate location information For hundreds of millions of devices.

The letter came after a report in the New York Times earlier this April that revealed that the database includes location information for each device running Android operating system, and in some cases, the information stored dates back to 2009 .
